Wales International Poetry Festival

At a time when borders are going up, this festival celebrates connections across languages and cultures, creating a space for hope and imagination that is needed now more than ever. Wales International Poetry Festival returns for the fifth time, welcoming poets from around the world to Bangor

Poets from Chile, France, Galicia, India, Mexico, Scotland, Slovenia and Wales will read in the original languages with translations into English and Welsh.

The event will be compered by Rhys Trimble and Zoë Skoulding, and will feature international poets Juana Adcock (Scotland/Mexico), Yolanda Castaño (Galicia),Frédéric Forte (France), Anja Golob (Slovenia), Luna Montenegro (Chile), Luis David Palacios (Mexico) and Mamta Sagar (India).

Wales International Poetry Festival is part of the Literary Europe Live project supported by the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union. It is a collaboration between Bangor and Aberystwyth Universities, organised by Literature Across Frontiers in partnership with Poetry Wales and Wales PEN Cymru, and with support from Wales Arts International, the Galician Government, the Embassy of Mexico and Centre for Slovenian Literature.

Doors open 7.15pm Event begins at 8pm.  ENTRY IS FREE
